Being of service

In the October newsletter when I said to start service work either at home or in the
community, I wanted to give options in making service work smoother. The two
categories people can get hung up on when it comes to starting service work is actually
how and where to start.

For some helping out family or friends may not only make more sense but may feel
more comfortable. It is not where or who you give to, but that you do spend a portion of
your time being of service. Money is always needed somewhere, but to really get the
gift out of giving, you need to expose yourself. So never just give money. Give time,
and if you feel you want to hand over some cash, have that be just an added bonus.
For me in the beginning, giving to community was more advantageous. We usually if
not always are drawn to giving in areas we have been affected by. Sometimes family
and friends are not receptive at the time of service or maybe there is too much pain to
give to a group so close to what is actually pulling at your heart strings. I am happy to
say by being of service with no strings attached I was able to transform my own life and
was put in positions to give to my own family and friends.

It is nothing but miraculous of the wonders that come from being of service.

Dehydration and flushing - the 2 extremes of drinking water

Hi Everyone!
Hope this summer finds you in great health and happiness. Summer can leave us a bit dehydrated, especially if we are not used to drinking a good daily supply of water. It is common for a feast and famine cycle of drinking water to occur.

Long term uneven water cycles leave the tissue cells dense. I can always tell when someone who does not get enough water consumption on how there skin feels when I am massaging or giving a dehp session. Other than how the tissue feels, and the added length of time to balance the body there are other noticeable signs that no one wants, like premature aging and sagging in the tissue. Just a reminder that many health ailments may be postponed or eliminated by incorporating a few easy precautionary steps.

On the other hand, it is unnecessary to over flush your system which can be signaling the body to be in a state of constant detoxing. We are looking for a natural balance in the body. Everyone's is a little different, so some of the factors to look for are: exposure to sun, level of activity, state of health and amounts of other food and beverage. If you are unsure, check with your doctor.

Simply putting it, make it a healthy habit it to sip water all day long to aid in proper hydration. Would you like to discuss a health topic? Visit Dr. Heather on our dehp doc Blog.

Unresolved feelings can lead to health issues.

I just finished a session with a young woman who had lost her mother a few years back. She came in looking for a relaxing massage, but like so many who find their way to the Spa to see me, ended up with much more.

I truly love doing “the work” that I do, and feel blessed every time I get to work with a live body! What I mean from that statement, is my whole life when I look at people, places and things, I can see an amazing piece of art being expressed and/or the potential for an amazing piece of art to be expressed.

Just being in the presence of such makes me want to interact and together create master pieces, which is what the entire dehp enrichment series is all about. It is a play house of potential, balance and bliss. An interaction I feel we are all worthy of having with one another.

So, when I see a little imbalance getting in the way, I instinctly set them free. In this young ladies case there was an intense physical pain anytime someone would touch her neck and ear on her left side. I could see it, just as plain as day. Much like a pile of dirt sitting in a corner waiting for someone to come and sweep it up, so the whole room could shine.

The interesting part was as I was working on the neck (with her permission) she began a story of going to different doctors to see what could be done. After several test, the last doctor jokingly told her she may just be crazy.

I can assure you the pain was real. Like so many who come in to see me with aches and pains that just cannot be picked up on the radar screen of most doctors. It is definitely adding insult to injury for dismissing them or calling them crazy.

I think everyone of us would agree, intense emotional pain is just as real as physical pain that can be seen. The problem occurs when we do not want to let the emotional pain go. When we try to hold on, escape or ignore it. This builds holding patterns inside the body. These holding patterns often go undetected. The only reason they go undetected is many people have not learned to relate to others on a dehp level.

Within minutes, I was able to touch and balance the neck, and without any discussion, prompting or warning, the young lady burst into tears. Tear after tear, the neck softened. She had no idea she was holding so much in, but I did and so did her body. There she was shiny again and pain free. As she thanked me, I thought to myself how lucky I was again to share on such a dynamic level. Life is good.

What does “dehp” stand for.

It is exciting to see so many interested and or taking a workshop or class with me, even though many are not quite sure what the “dehp” stands for or really means.

“dehp” is pronounced deep and stands for developed expression of human potential. It is a natural state our body produces when we are in balance. This balance I am talking about is more than not tipping over when you walk, or having your shoulders so tight you can not turn your head.

It is a natural ability to process stress, so body ailments do not occur. This should be a no-brainer, but due to our busy lifestyles and the need to work 9 to 9 (not a joke for some) we are getting less and less in touch with this basic ability.

Like with anything, what we practice we get more of or receive. When working with the bodies natural ability to process stress we actually find more than total balance and well being, we find our inner expression.

The entire series of “dehp enrichment” sessions and workshops offered exclusively at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort are designed to de-stress and promote creativity and get you back in touch with the inner you. Remember, what we practice we find.

Namaste,
Josette

Sweatlodge

Many people have come to me for my opinion regarding the deaths at the Sweat lodge in Sedona, so I am compelled to write. Ten years ago, Robert and myself owned several acres in Rio Verde Arizona and conducted sweats on the property. People would travel from all over to have the amazing experience a sweat can provide and to share in the healing community of gathering in such a sacred way. We never once, had anyone get ill, or have a bad experience. The reason why?
Sweats have been around for centeries and many different cultures around the world have conducted them in many different ways. In the United States, our experiences with sweats usually come from hearing of the Native American Sweat.
To have a successful sweat, you must honor everything about the sweat. This includes the history, the preparation, the intent, the participants, the elements, and the great connection with the divine. A sweat is nothing less than a miracle and an incredibly divine experience.
I have NEVER before heard of anyone charging for a sweat. I do not think you should commercialize a spiritual experience or put demands or limits on how or what someone feels their bodies needs, like water or to get out of the lodge……
In my opinion, there are no guru’s other than the one that reside in each one of us. God gave us all insight. We have to listen.
Through out time, there is always someone trying to overpower, and make a profit off anything they can. In today’s world, I am surprised we have not tried charging to breathe. We have to find the value in our self and see it in others, and then we will not have to witness such horrible acts.
In my twenties, I was very aware of my gifts but had not grown into the maturity of sharing and receiving others for theirs. There is no greater pain than to fall from grace and land smack down in the ego. I feel for this man and I feel for the families.
I am asking everyone to watch, listen inside and respond. We have to share our voice and support one another on our paths. No teacher, or leader has all the answers. We all have a piece of the picture and we find our grace when we participate and share. This is not to say the participants in the sweat did not do this.
